Official: Russia has no plans to substitute imports from Belarus
MINSK, Feb 3 (PRIME) -- Russia has no plans to substitute imports of goods from Belarus, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said on Wednesday after a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko.
“Russia doesn’t have and doesn’t plan to have any measures to substitute Belarusian products,” he said, adding that there was no sense in “spending money of the Russian budget on duplicating the products that the sister republic is able to supply to us.”
“Moreover, we are now raising the issue of a wider use of production capacities of the Belarusian industry to substitute imports of the items with which we have problems.”
